I am a Ph.D. student in the Raimondi-Carr lab in the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology department at UC Santa Cruz. I am also pursuing a Designated Emphasis within the Coastal Science and Policy department.
After graduating from the University of Miami, I worked as a research associate at NOAA’s Southeast Fisheries Science Center, monitoring Acropora palmata coral populations off of Key Largo. After documenting the 2014-2015 bleaching event and watching the subsequent response of the government and research community, I decided to pursue a Ph.D. researching human impacts on marine ecology. My current interests are the ecological effects of coastal development and management in coastal California.
My graduate career is generously funded by the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program.
